Since January, this administration has lawlessly pushed the limits of executive power. It has escalated attacks on immigrants and tried to dismantle our most fundamental rights. But we have fought back every step of the way.

When the Trump administration attempted to unlawfully remove young Guatemalan children from the country in the middle of the night, we sued. While planes sat idling on the runway, NILC and partners successfully blocked a plan that could have endangered hundreds of vulnerable children.

We challenged unlawful anti-immigrant policies in Idaho and Texas, and we sued Tennessee for its unlawful deployment of the National Guard in Memphis.

As masked ICE agents began abducting immigrant mothers, fathers, and community members off the street – even disappearing some of them to foreign torture prisons – this community – our community mobilized, taking over 80,000 actions that demanded oversight and leadership from our representatives at every level of government. Tens of thousands of new supporters have joined us this year to stand in solidarity with immigrants.

Friend, we are all living through a perilous time. If left unchecked, Donald Trump will continue to consolidate power and use it against anyone with whom the administration disagrees. The reality is that the Trump administration has no intention of slowing down — and we cannot afford to either.
