Friend,

I hope you’re enjoying a quiet moment this morning, maybe with a cup of coffee. As I reflect on the week, a thought keeps coming back to me — it's a simple lesson I learned growing up on our hog farm near Fontanelle.

On the farm, you didn't have the luxury of getting distracted. If the fence was broken, you fixed the fence. If the animals needed feeding, you showed up before dawn. It was all about grit, common sense, and focusing on the fundamentals.

Right now, I see too much distraction in Lincoln. Our state leadership seems fixated on political noise and cultural fights, ignoring the necessary work: securing our infrastructure, supporting our schools, and growing our local economies.

This weekend, my food for thought is this: When did common sense stop being the most important qualification for leadership?

I'm ready to bring farm-taught common sense back to the Governor's office. I want to replace division with solutions, but I need to start by getting back on the road to listen to Nebraskans.

This exploratory phase is crucial to hire our first staff and cover the travel costs to start our listening tour.

Will you chip in $25, $50, or whatever you can afford today to support my exploratory committee? Let’s make this campaign about fixing fences, not fighting in the mud.

With gratitude,

Lynne Walz
