Good morning, friends!
I hope that you had a nice Thanksgiving, or if your festivities are continuing today, that it is wonderful too. We had a small one, just my youngest daughter and me. Our bigger one with tons of food was last month when we had extended family in town.
I used to really care about celebrating holidays right on the date, doggone it. This was realy hard back when I shared custody with my girls' father, and built in me a terrible stress over the season. But as I get older (and maybe more mellow), I just care about the concept of the holidays. I want to be grateful, see or talk to the ones I love, and enjoy traditions when we can all get together. This has made my life so much less anxious and depressing around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Eve.
We fought turning on the heat in our place until the day after Thanksgiving. Does anyone else have a little competition with themselves to see how long they can wait? On Friday, we turned the heat on for a couple of hours to take the chill off, but yesterday, it was on all day long. Bah! I thought we were going to make it to December!
I'm deep into revisions and getting ready to publish my book Haven Hill soon. I hope you guys are enjoying the story!
Yesterday, a couple of commenters questioned why the characters Kate and Ariel are trying to evade Logan instead of hunting him down and doing away with him. That is such a good question! Part of the reason is that Kate is not a killer or a cruel person by nature. She would absolutely shoot him if he was attacking her or Ariel and she had a clear shot. But she has no military background. She hasn't ever considered hunting a human being before. All she wants is for Logan to go back to prison. She wants help. She wants to be rescued. Trying to get away from him to ultimately having a standoff is her character's growth in the story. 🙂
