Our grassroots network is focusing the attention of the Senate on the needs of working families.

John,

In just two weeks, critical protections for working families including a $600 weekly unemployment boost and protections against evictions are set to expire.

Two months ago, the U.S. House passed a robust package of legislation to help us weather the storm caused by the pandemic, but the Senate has failed to act.

Already, CHN’s national coalition has sent over 283,000 letters to Senators demanding immediate action. And, when the Senate returns next week, we’ll deliver more than 100,000 petition signatures demanding action to prevent hunger and homelessness, and demanding additional cash aid for people and families.

This is a critical moment. We can’t allow members of Congress to become numb to the economic pain and uncertainty that millions of people face across the country.

If you can, chip in $5 or more today to demand Mitch McConnell and the U.S. Senate prioritize the needs of struggling families, the poor and vulnerable.

We are proud of the work of our grassroots network:

  • 104,000 signatures to a petition demanding the U.S. Senate pass legislation to deliver direct aid to families who need it most, not more handouts to corporations and the rich;
  • 152,000 letters were sent to Senators calling for a moratorium on evictions and legislation to provide emergency rental assistance so people can pay their rent;
  • 99,000 letters were sent to Senators demanding legislation to prevent people from going without food in the midst of a pandemic;
  • And, just this week, more than 33,000 letters have been sent to Senators calling for an expansion of cash aid benefits to help struggling families cover the bills during a public health emergency that shows no signs of slowing down.

Your letters, signatures and donations are powering these efforts.

If you can, chip in $5 or more today to keep up the pressure on Mitch McConnell and the Senate. Let's make sure our voices are heard when they return to Washington next week.

We can't stand by and let Mitch McConnell play politics with people's lives. Let's demand the Senate provide people with the relief measures they desperately need to survive.

Thank you for your support during this challenging time,
