This is the Fresno Police brutally assaulting a high school student: 17-year old London Wallace. He committed no crime.
He was unarmed, non-violent, was never charged, had no priors, no criminal history. I’m saying that for the people who just needed to know.
The Fresno Police investigated themselves after this happened – and cleared themselves. Now the footage shows they all lied on their reports. It’s just awful.
We demand justice for London Wallace. Please add your voice here.
This is the broken, racist system that we live in. Too often, police abuse their power. They brutalize our communities. And then they investigate themselves. It’s no surprise they think they can get away with this.
Now an internal investigation is happening. We need to demand that police be held accountable for what they’ve done. But we also need to advocate to change the system from the inside out, to put a check on police power, so that they don’t believe they can do things like this in the first place.
That’s why at Real Justice we elect district attorneys who will fight unjust policing. They are one of the only checks on police power. We have important campaigns coming up to elect district attorneys all across the country who will do what’s right. We’re going to need your help. But today, I’m just asking you to add your voice:
