I’ll be honest: People like me aren’t supposed to make it to Congress.

I’ll tell you more about what I mean in a second, but first, I want you to know: Our next fundraising deadline is only 24 hours away, and we need just a little bit of help from your area to reach our goal. Can I count on your help today? [[link removed]]

I was an underdog growing up. I don’t come from generational wealth or trust funds. I was raised by two parents who worked hard and wanted the best for me, but still struggled to make ends meet. It’s a story that’s all too common across Colorado.

On the other hand, the Republicans running the show right now are… the opposite of underdogs. They don’t know what it’s like to wait tables to work their way through school. They don’t know what it’s like to clean houses at age 12 to support their families. I do.

Some might say that’s a background that doesn’t belong in Congress. But I think it’s the opposite. That’s the kind of experience we need more of.

More underdogs. More regular people. More parents who understand the struggles of real families.

Ever since I made it to Congress, I’ve been in this fight for the underdogs — for the people Donald Trump never, ever thinks about: Young moms struggling to afford their health care. Families who don’t know where their next meal will come from. At-risk kids who just want an opportunity to build a better future.

I know what it means to be an underdog. All the extra work you have to put in, the grit and determination it takes just to lift yourself up. That’s how it feels right now in Congress: Democrats are the underdogs right now. But take it from me: Underdogs know how to scrap… and win.

That’s what we need to do until the final polls close on Election Day next year: Scrap. Fight. Win. But I can’t do it without you. Please, chip in before midnight tomorrow to help us close the gap on our fundraising goal, defend this seat from Donald Trump, and flip the House blue next year. [[link removed]]
