Support Sanctuary & AAVS Mission

We have exciting news to share! The Oklahoma Primate Sanctuary (OPS), one of our favorite sanctuaries caring for monkeys who’ve been released from labs, has received its 'Verified' certification by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS).

AAVS has supported OPS (formerly Mindy’s Memory Primate Sanctuary) over the years, including a multi-year grant for its re-launch. We thought you might like to make a direct donation to congratulate OPS for this achievement!

With so many pseudo-sanctuaries around the country duping the public, GFAS verification is a reliable indicator that a sanctuary puts the animals first, just like we do here at AAVS.

To obtain GFAS verification, sanctuaries must meet rigorous and peer-reviewed animal care standards and follow sound operational practices that help to ensure long-term security for both the animals and the facility.

But while OPS has made many improvements—all to benefit the monkeys in its care—the effort also tightened its budget. As we work together to end animal experimentation, it’s important to also support the sanctuaries caring for retired lab animals.

Please join AAVS in supporting the Oklahoma Primate Sanctuary!

Thank you!
