Hi John -- it’s Nathan, Mike’s finance director, with a quick note.

Since Mike flipped this seat from red to blue back in 2018, he’s faced tough re-election battles. Last year he defeated a self-funded Republican by our smallest margin of victory yet -- just a few percentage points.

Now, the landscape of our race has flipped on its head. With the passage of Prop 50, over 170,000 new voters will be added to our district. And make no mistake: This race is no shoo-in -- the political experts at Sabato’s Crystal Ball still rank CA-49 as a competitive race.

We’re preparing our massive voter outreach program that will begin in January, and we need to continue to push back against our high-profile GOP challenger. Tomorrow marks one of our last key fundraising deadlines before the midterm election year.
