Trump has seized on the tragic shooting of two National Guard members to ratchet up revenge-fueled scapegoating of refugees from Afghanistan and other “Third World” countries. The regime is sending more troops to DC, making war moves against Venezuela (now by demanding Venezuela's air space be closed off to ALL air traffic), and threatening lawmakers from the Democratic Party who urged active military to remember their oath to the Constitution.

The danger of the Trump Fascist Regime consolidating power has just taken a leap, and it is still the case that millions hate what this regime represents. Those millions can and must be drawn into the movement to nonviolently drive the fascist Trump regime out of power. Whatever comes to light about the motivations or guilt or innocence of the alleged shooter, all who care about justice must reject and nonviolently oppose all attempts by the Trump regime to seize on this incident as a justification to deploy more troops to Washington DC; further demonize and terrorize immigrants and refugees; and escalate repression against the people and their rights here and internationally.
