Hi team, we have a few exciting Phoenix updates we'd like to share with you! ⬇️ |
Mayor Kate Gallego recently attended the 2025 United Nations Climate Change Conference, alongside 35 other U.S. mayors, to discuss reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainable development. As the current chair of the Climate Mayors, Kate brought critical experience to the conference and led discussions on how to develop sustainable solutions, particularly with the rise of AI and new data centers.
“I’m very hopeful one of the big focus areas for the statement coming out of this will be that this investment in artificial intelligence has to be done in a way that is responsible for energy and water use, and that makes sure it does not disproportionately drive up all of our power bills,” said Mayor Gallego. |
Building upon Phoenix’s positive climate record, Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport was recently awarded the 2025 Airports Going Green Award for the PHX Green Business Partner Program. This award recognizes the airport's efforts in innovation and leadership in aviation sustainability. Not only is Phoenix Sky Harbor America’s Friendliest Airport, it’s also one of its most environmentally innovative. |
For the 13th consecutive year, Phoenix earned a perfect 100 on the Human Rights Campaign’s Municipal Equality Index (MEI). The MEI examines municipal laws, policies, and services to assess their inclusivity for local LGBTQ residents and employees. Here in Phoenix, everyone is welcome, protected, and empowered to be the best version of themselves. |
During the record-breaking federal government shutdown, the City of Phoenix launched a citywide food drive to help put food on the table for those facing food insecurity. Mayor Kate Gallego and everyone on our team would like to extend a special thank you to all those who responded to her call to action, donating food, money, or their time to help our neighbors in need. Phoenix has always come together during times of need, and this challenging time is no different. You can lend some support here.
