Girls Inc. is proud to partner with the United State of Women to support their first-ever United State of Young Women Summit on July 22 - July 24. This online convening will feature three days of uplifting and informative conversations and workshops to empower young people. We are thrilled that Girls Inc. will be featured at the summit in a number of ways: Dr. Stephanie J. Hull, our CEO & President, will moderate a panel on young women and their journey to advocacy; Trinity Johnson from Girls Inc. of Central Alabama will speak on a panel about mental health; and Girls Inc. of Orange County, Girls Inc. of Chicago, and a Girls Inc. alumna from Girls Inc. of Lynn, Aryana Richardson, will lead breakout sessions at the summit. Pride Month is over, but advancing the civil rights of LGBTQ+ youth is always a top priority. Take 60 seconds to reach out to your Senators and demand they take action to protect LGBTQ+ youth by passing the Equality Act. The Equality Act would create more explicit federal protections from sex discrimination—including harassment—so that all people regardless of who they love or how they identify have equal access to education, employment, housing, public places and services, federally-funded programs, and more.
