The primary election for my colleague and sister-in-service, Rep. Ilhan Omar, is less than a month away, and outside Super PACs and GOP donors are spending big to support her challenger.
Ilhan’s primary challenger just reported that he raised $3.2 million this last quarter and has $2 million in the bank ahead of the August 11th primary.
I am so proud to serve in Congress alongside Ilhan. She is a visionary leader who is fighting for the people of Minnesota’s 5th District every single day.
It’s obvious that Ilhan’s bold advocacy — for policies like Medicare for All, a housing guarantee, and a Green New Deal — threatens Republicans and their allies, who are only invested in maintaining the status quo and serving corporate special interests.
With less than a month before the primary election, it’s critical that Ilhan has the resources to reach voters in every part of Minnesota’s 5th District — and combat the millions of dollars in her opponent’s war-chest.
