These masked agents are terrorizing people in South Carolina - running up and down main streets harassing people based on the color of their skin. When I’m governor, I’m going to stand against these unaccountable federal agents and protect the people of this state.
What we are seeing from ICE in communities across our state is unacceptable.
Make no mistake - this is exactly what happens when extremists in power think no one will push back. They intimidate, escalate, and believe that no one will try to stop them.
As governor I will not let unchecked federal agents run wild in our neighborhoods. I will stand up to anyone who abuses their authority and I will defend South Carolinians from government overreach every single day. I will push back and make sure our communities are treated with dignity and respect.
I know what it feels like to be targeted by systems that see you as a statistic and not as a person. This is a fight that cannot wait.
