Letter from the Executive Deputy Director

Yá’át’ééh shik’éí dóó shidine’é,

As we move through the season of reflection, I’ve been thinking deeply about the collective care that sustains our movement and what it means to protect our relatives and preserve our future.

This November, we carried those teachings through every part of our Native American Heritage Month campaign. Our team stood in community, shared stories, deepened relationships, and strengthened the work we’ve been called to do. Through advocate testimonies to community conversations and calls to action, we were reminded that our strength is rooted in our culture, our kinship, and our willingness to show up for one another.

At CSVANW, this month has been about more than recognition. It’s been a commitment to visibility, sovereignty, and collective healing, a reminder that Native voices are not only present, but powerful. And that when we invest in the safety and wellness of Native women, children, and communities, we are investing in generations to come.

As we look ahead, I invite you to continue walking with us.

This Giving Tuesday, we ask you to give as an act of love, healing, and resistance. Your support helps us sustain culturally resilient, survivor-centered advocacy and education. It helps us reach more relatives, uplift more voices, and strengthen the healing movement our ancestors dreamed of.

Every gift, LARGE or small, makes a difference. And this year, we’re offering limited-edition Cycle Breaker gifts as tokens of gratitude for those who give during the campaign.

Thank you for being part of this movement. For 30 years, you’ve helped us grow. Let’s keep building together.

Ahéhee’ for being with us in this work.

With Gratitude,

Nicole Michelena
