We have some exciting news: Flippable is proud to join The Big Send, a letter-writing campaign to motivate voters to turn out in key states this November!
Organized by Vote Forward, another member of the Swing Left family, The Big Send is a campaign to write and send 10 million letters to Democratic-leaning and traditionally underrepresented registered voters for the 2020 general election. Through randomized trials, Vote Forward has developed a proven letter-writing strategy to increase voter turnout from home. Already, Big Send volunteers have prepared over 2.5 million letters.
Here’s how it works:
- Create your account with Vote Forward.
- Adopt voters through the platform You can choose to adopt five or 20 voters at a time.
- Print, fill out, and hand address your letters. Then, store them in a safe place.
- Mail your letters on the send date in late October—right before the 2020 election. (Tests have proven that the closer the letter is received to the vote date, the bigger the impact on voter turnout.)
Adopt your first set of voters in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania or Texas. In 2019, volunteers wrote 229,000 letters to voters ahead of Virginia’s state legislature elections, which helped flip the General Assembly blue. This year, we’re focused on 2020 battleground states, where the compounded effects of GOP voter suppression and the pandemic make it more difficult to vote.
