Happy Friday.
Today, I want to talk about these $2,000 tariff checks
[[link removed]] Trump wants to send
Americans.
[[link removed]]
Sounds great, right? Who doesn’t want $2,000?
But, there’s just one problem with that…
Remember during COVID when Trump sent out checks when people were
forced not to work and the President closed the country down?
They called it, “15 days to stop the spread.”
So they sent out these checks, and what happened?
People were thrilled.
My friends were so happy. _We’ve got checks coming!_
And then Biden comes in, and he sends out more checks.
_More checks! We’re so happy!_
Well, happy in the short term.
It’s like drinking a lot of alcohol or eating a lot of sugar.
It’s great in the moment, but the next morning you wake up with a
hangover.
And we woke up from “checks” with a hangover called _inflation_.
You cannot send money out without repercussion.
So in 2020, 2021, everybody gets checks. _Yay!_
2022, 2023, 2024… you start to see the effects, start to see
inflation really rise.
This is a story as old as the hills.
So I am happy that some senators in Congress, Republicans, are really
pushing back against this idea, saying the country can’t afford to
send out these $2,000 tariff “dividend checks.”
He’s such a good marketer, Trump. He says he wants to send them out
to working class Americans to “help them afford higher living
expenses.”
Sounds great in theory.
But if you send checks today, inflation tomorrow, okay?
You send these checks out 2025, 2026…
You have inflation in 2027.
That’s just how it works.
I didn’t invent the rules. I’m just telling you how it works.
It sounds like a good idea in theory._ It’s not a good idea._
Let me tell you something - inflation is the biggest driver of
political instability throughout history.
When working people can’t afford to feed their kids, there’s
political instability.
They’re stealing bread.
It creates socialism.
Trump has a lot of good ideas, and as right as he is, he likes to
spend money.
The other inflationary thing that’s happened is, I don’t know if
you’ve read this in the papers - the U.S. minted its last penny
ever.
That’s it - no more pennies.
The copper costs too much.
But guess what…
You stop making pennies, the next smallest amount is going to be a
nickel.
So let me tell you something - everything that’s in that dollar
range, is going to go up to a dollar and a nickel now.
That’s like 4%, 5% inflation you’ll see on the low end, and
that’s going to hit the working class.
So we’ll see some inflation coming in just by the fact we’re not
minting pennies anymore.
