Mutoni and her mother

Hi Friend,

Eight-year-old Mutoni boarded the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital in Kigali with Seymour the Bear in her arms—and two years of pain and blurred vision caused by a growing mass on her eyelid. But her life was about to take off thanks to supporters like you.

Her mother, Denise, never left her side. “I’m most excited to see my daughter happy and relieved after the procedure,” she told us.

Thanks to the skill of Orbis Volunteer Faculty Dr. Ron Pelton—and the compassion of our supporters—Mutoni’s surgery was a success. Her vision is clear, her pain is gone, and her future is brighter than ever.

This Thanksgiving, we’re reminded of the incredible gift you give: the gift of sight, hope, and brighter futures. From Mutoni and Denise, and all of us at Orbis, thank you for making stories like this possible.
