Rap artist Aitch and his sister Gracie

Chart-topping British rapper criticises abortion laws for targeting babies with Down Syndrome

Manchester rapper Aitch has explained that his reason for joining the I’m A Celebrity jungle is to help raise awareness of Down syndrome, inspired in part by his 13-year-old sister, Gracie.

He told the Daily Mail: “I’m not only just doing it for people with Down Syndrome, I’m doing it for people around as well. I don’t want anyone to be like disheartened or feel s*** if they do find out someone in the family’s got Down Syndrome. It’s a blessing. You’re going to have the best time of your life as long as you’re spending it with that person. My main thing, really

and truly, is because I don’t want Down Syndrome to be seen as a negative thing.”

Prince Albert II of Monaco

Prince Albert of Monaco refuses to sign pro-abortion bill

In a bold and courageous move, Prince Albert II of Monaco has announced that he will not sign into law a bill that would have legalised abortion on demand in the Principality.

The Prince’s decision puts a stop to the changes approved earlier this year by Monaco’s National Council to permit abortion on request up to 12 weeks and to reduce the age of parental consent from 18 to 15.

Speaking to members of the press in Monaco, Prince Albert said: “I believe the current system expresses who we are, considering the role of the Catholic religion in our country, while ensuring safe and humane support.”

Slovenia votes down pro-assisted suicide law in national referendum

Slovenians have voted to suspend the introduction of a new assisted-suicide law after opponents succeeded in triggering a referendum. On Sunday, 53% of voters rejected the proposal while 47% supported it, pushing its implementation back by at least a year and shifting momentum toward the pro-life side.

Slovenia’s parliament had approved a law in July allowing for assisted suicide after a 2024 referendum supported it. But the new vote was called after pro-life and faith based groups gathered 46,000 signatures in favour of holding a new referendum, exceeding the 40,000 required.

The latest result indicates that Slovenian voters have shifted their views over the past year. In June 2024, a non-binding “consultative” referendum on adopting an assisted-suicide law passed with 54.89% in favour and 45.11% against. Since then, several prominent medical experts publicly expressed serious concerns about legalising assisted suicide and the potential consequences of such a law - interventions that likely played a significant role in turning the tide of public opinion.

Indiana Right to Life launches pro-adoption messaging campaign

Indiana Right to Life has launched a groundbreaking adoption messaging campaign focussed primarily on male students attending universities across Indiana.

Life News reports that in the privately commissioned research funded by Indiana Right to Life, young women who stated they would consider abortion in an unplanned pregnancy (but not adoption) were asked what, if anything, would cause them to reconsider adoption. Nearly half of the respondents stated nothing would have made them reconsider adoption.

The decision to make young men the target audience of the pro-adoption campaign follows the one glimmer of hope in the research showing that of the small number of women who might consider adoption, they would only do so “if the baby’s father supported me in the decision.”

Using the research data, Indiana Right to Life have created a series of short ads across social media geared towards young men. It’s a laudable initiative, and it will be interesting to observe how it fares.
