On Friday, ballots are mailed in Washington state for our primary election. Over 30 candidates are running against me, and they aren't wasting any time going live with TV ads attacking me. We can't waste any time, and we must be prepared to respond.

This race is officially heating up, and voters will begin casting their ballots in a few days. That's why we set an aggressive deadline ahead of ballots being mailed out on Friday. We have to be ready for what's to come:

The election of Donald Trump in 2016 showed us anything is possible -- and that no election is certain. With just four Democratic governorships up for election this year, the Republican Governors Association has millions of dollars to spend and only a few places to spend it. Washington state will undoubtedly be one of them.

And you've seen the rhetoric around my pandemic leadership: My opponents are calling it "absolute idiocy," "beyond dumb," and "attacking us to death" for my role in making science-based decisions that are flattening the curve and keeping Washington state safe. I refuse to let these attacks deter me, but it's just a taste of what's to come with Election Day drawing near. This primary is really only the beginning -- and we have to be ready.
