Dear Friend,
Happy Thanksgiving!
Today is often a day for family, friends, and traditions—and we also know
that for many people, and especially this year, Thanksgiving is
complicated. Some families are gathering; and some aren’t. Some tables are
full; and some are stretched thin. Some are going to the movies, bowling,
hiking, and playing games for the day; and some are navigating strained
relationships, financial stress, or the pain of loved ones who have been
lost or been forcibly separated.
In a year when giving thanks may feel particularly hard, we hope today
brings you even a small moment of warmth, rest, or connection—in whatever
form that takes for you. And also in this complicated moment, we’re
holding close the power and joy of community, connection, hope, and of the
movement we’ve built together at MomsRising which is now nearly 1.2
million active members strong.
Thank you.
Connecting and staying connected, and building a movement together, is how
we care for one another through the ups and downs of change; and how we
push back against an administration working to divide us. And yes: Here’s
not only to the strength and joy of building a movement together, but also
to the pies, the traditions you treasure, and the small joys that help
sustain us.

As [ [link removed] ]#Trumpflation soars, [1] holiday cheer is sporting a higher price
tag this year. No wonder 57% of Americans say Thanksgiving staples cost
more this year: Turkey prices are up 24%, canned cranberries 45%, frozen
peas 17%, and sweet potatoes a steep 37%. [2] From families in the grocery
checkout line to farmers raising turkeys, Americans are feeling the
squeeze. At the same time, families are bracing for additional cuts to
SNAP and Medicaid due to the recent passage of Republican leadership-led
bills limiting access, and the rising cost of health care, leaving many
moms, dads, and grandparents scrambling to put food on the table for their
children. And immigrant families, many of whom are already facing targeted
attacks, are being hit especially hard.
In times like this, you, and this movement we’re building together, have
never been more important or needed. We are so very grateful to be in this
together, and to be working with you.
2025 has been a year when the voices of MomsRising’s nearly 1.2 million
members in every state of the nation have risen to the occasion. We’ve
been crunching our numbers, and I’ll give you the inside scoop on just how
powerful we are:
* Right now, MomsRising is one of the most mobilized grassroots forces
in our nation, with 1 of every 300 people in America now an active
member of MomsRising.
* Despite the significant anti-democratic forces working to silence and
intimidate, MomsRising members have been more active than ever before,
taking 2,297,823 actions (and counting!) this year so far. That’s
nearly double 2024. This kind of mobilization is a huge win in and of
itself.
* MomsRising, and our members, have played a big role in shaping the
national narrative: Overall, so far in 2025, MomsRising has sparked
1,345 traditional news media clips with a combined estimated audience
reach of 1,700,000,000, including over 800 clips of our members alone
and more than 175 Spanish-language clips.

We are stronger together. In fact, history shows us that isolation can
undermine democracy – and we all know the antidote to isolation is
community. During challenging times, we can turn to each other and build a
community – and a movement – that will be a turning point for the change
we and our nation need.
I can’t tell you how much the fact that you keep rising means to me, to
this movement, and to the families who are lifted by your (and our)
actions together. We can’t lose track of our hope, our joy, and our
admiration for one another—and remember that together, we can and do make
a difference bit by bit, day by day that builds into a powerful wave.
It’s clear: When we stick together, we can build a better nation where
every mom and family can access health care; where child care, food,
housing, and and elder care are affordable; where paid family and medical
leave is available when a new baby arrives or a serious health crisis
strikes; where our immigration process balances compassion and security;
where every expectant parent can get high quality, caring, and affordable
maternity care; where schools are safe places of learning and belonging;
where jobs are secure; where the economy is strong; and where the ONLY
person wearing a crown is Lady Liberty.
