Today, people across the country will gather around the table.
Many of us will prepare meals with family recipes, using ingredients we picked up at a local store or had delivered. For many, Thanksgiving is a day to gather with family and friends—a celebration of what we have through a shared meal.
And yet today, 47 million Americans live in food insecure homes; meaning they don’t have enough food to adequately feed themselves and their families.
While many of us were arranging travel plans or picking out side dishes to bring this month, our country’s leaders fought to withhold SNAP grocery resources from millions of Americans. Calls to our team through the USDA National Hunger Hotline doubled, and searches for food through our Find Food database increased by over 500%.
We have never seen a November like this before—and are so grateful that you’re here with us.
Today, and every day, we are so thankful for the donors, advocates, and volunteers who have joined the movement to end hunger in America.
We are so thankful for you.
