Before the pandemic hit, Democratic voter registrations were soaring past Republican registrations -- due in part to the heated primary Democrats were still engaged in and also because of historic levels of disapproval toward Donald Trump.
But now, according to POLITICO, Democratic voter registrations have taken a hit -- and the voters currently registering in key swing states are “whiter, older and less Democratic than before.”
The registration numbers have Democratic groups nervous -- and with good reason. Just like in 2016, low turnout could spell disaster in November -- and positive-looking polling numbers won’t mean much if Trump’s most diehard supporters out-perform us at the ballot box.
That’s why we’re reaching out now to consolidate support and prove Democrats are still engaged in this race -- and not declaring victory prematurely. Will you be with us all the way until the finish line? Tell us now:
