Email from Trisha Calvarese for Congress Happy Thanksgiving! John, Thanksgiving is tough for me. It was the first holiday after I lost both of my parents when I was 36, one of the hardest times of my life. I miss them every day. But I am so grateful for the time I had with them—for the values they taught me, for the faith they gave me, and for the love that still carries me forward. I am grateful to be running for Congress in my home district to make life affordable again for middle-class families like mine. For care and food. For energy and education. For the dignity of the people who make those things possible. For good jobs that let folks spend more time with the ones they love. In other words, this Thanksgiving, I’m not just thankful for the food on the table—I’m thankful for the hands that put it there. Farmers. Energy and infrastructure workers. Public servants who hold our communities together. I also want to send a heartfelt thank you to you. I know times are tough right now. I know how hard you work for every paycheck. The fact that you have chosen to pitch in your hard-earned money to support this grassroots campaign is something I will never take for granted. It is an honor to have you in this fight. Today, I hope you can tune out the noise, hold your loved ones close, and take a moment to rest. You’ve earned it.
