Dear supporter,
Thanks to your support, every day we help believers who are under enormous pressure because of their stand for Christ. That’s hundreds every year.
A few, like Pastor Clive Johnston (right), become high-profile court cases. He is being prosecuted for preaching on John 3:16 at the edge of an abortion buffer zone. But cases like Clive’s are just the tip of the iceberg and a big media splash is often not in the best interests of those seeking our help.
Some face disciplinary action for expressing Christian beliefs on social media. Others are under pressure to promote unbiblical lifestyles in their work, endorse their employer’s LGBT Pride celebration or use ‘preferred pronouns’. Christian parents, teachers and school governors frequently benefit from our tailored, practical advice on dealing appropriately with sex education and transgender ideology.
Just recently we have:
- Advised a bridal shop on how to support female staff should they be approached by a man for a private dress fitting;
- Supported an employee required to endorse false pronouns to pass their ‘diversity’ training;
- Advised a Christian charity on its right to recruit a Christian CEO in the face of secularist pressure;
- Helped a graphic design company that refused to design a ‘Pride’ logo – our famous win in the Ashers case proved crucial once again;
- Ensured a church could continue to display Bible texts on its building after the local council sought to ban them;
- Equipped parents wanting to engage with their children’s schools on sex education;
- Inspired a Christian to become a school governor.
"I could not have done it without you and feel a weight lifted off my shoulders."

Assisted suicide
At the same time, we are in the thick of the battle against assisted suicide. We have been briefing MPs, MSPs and Peers on its dreadful reality. We have engaged, equipped and encouraged tens of thousands of churches and Christians through national and local prayer initiatives, webinars and in-person meetings, tips for action and vital resources.
Gospel and family freedom
We’re challenging the UK Civil Service’s support for ‘Pride’ marches, the recording of non-crime hate incidents and the proposed definition of ‘Islamophobia’. We’re defending families from gross state overreach on home education and parental discipline. And we continue to lead the fight against the censorship of preaching, prayer and pastoral care threatened by a ‘conversion therapy’ law. These issues will shape our society for years to come.
Finally, I’m pleased to say we have just launched The Street Preacher’s Charter for England and Wales. Drawing on our many years assisting responsible Christian street preachers, it aims to help preachers and police officers alike to better understand and uphold the law. I’m delighted it has been endorsed by former Director of Public Prosecutions Lord Macdonald KC, and by Open Air Mission and Open Air Campaigners (GB). We plan to publish versions for the rest of the UK in due course.
