Dear Friend,

On this Thanksgiving Day, I want to offer my heartfelt gratitude – to you. 

2025 has been a challenging year for many. But amid the uncertainty and division there have been real moments of beauty, dignity, and hope.

Moments of courage for an athlete with intellectual disabilities (ID) walking into their first practice. Moments of joy for families, friends, and fans cheering from the stands. And moments of pride for teammates who finally feel like they belong.

These are the moments that define Special Olympics. And they’re made possible by compassionate and committed champions like you. 

By sharing athlete stories, joining our games and competitions, or helping spread the word, you have helped create spaces where people with ID feel seen and celebrated. We’re so grateful to have you in our inclusion movement. As my family and I get ready to gather for our own Thanksgiving celebration, I have been thinking about how far this movement has come and how much love has built it. My mother, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, believed in a world where every person is valued for who they are. Not in spite of their differences, but because of them.

Her vision lives on because of people like you. Through your support of Special Olympics, you have helped open doors, inspire confidence and kindness, and create a sense of belonging that reaches far beyond the playing field.
