Dear Friend,
As we get closer to the end of another year, we want to pause to express our thankfulness to you. We have been able to accomplish so much these past 25 years with your continuous support.
Throughout the year, our organizers, volunteers, and members have been organizing in every corner of the state, building people power to fight for the issues that matter at the local level. You showed up to virtual phonebanks after long work days, knocked on doors in your district to talk with neighbors, and even dressed up to celebrate with us at our annual gala. Your presence and commitment are what move this work forward.
Together, we pushed for stronger housing protections, advanced demands for fairer healthcare, defended and expanded public education, and elevated environmental justice work in communities that have long been ignored. Through it all, we continued building a powerful statewide base ready to hold leaders accountable and create lasting change, and now more than ever, we need to keep showing up for each other and for our communities.
We would be remiss if we didn’t acknowledge the history of this day in this message of gratitude. Here at PMD, we honor Indigenous people year-round, and on this day during Native American Heritage Month, we feel it’s especially important to honor the legacy - past, present, and future - of Indigenous Marylanders. When we say we are working towards a more just and equitable future for all Marylanders, that certainly includes our Indigenous communities.
Thank you for choosing to be a part of this organization and engaging in building a stronger coalition of progressive unity throughout the state. We appreciate you deeply, Friend.
We wish you a wonderful week filled with comfort, community, and good food.
Warmest regards,
The Progressive Maryland Team
