Email from Sterbinsky for Congress My name is Dani Sterbinsky and I am a proud Navy vet, Democrat, and mother running to defeat Paul Gosar in Arizona’s 9th District. John, In the Navy, we often say “Loose lips sink ships.” We say this because it is true: having the right people in the trenches with you could be the difference between life and death. My name is Dani Sterbinsky. I am a proud Navy vet, Democrat, and mother. And today, I am announcing my candidacy for Arizona’s 9th District: because we can no longer afford to have loose-lipped MAGA politicians like Paul Gosar representing us. I never thought I would be running for political office. Growing up, I moved around a lot with my dad who served for 20 years in the Air Force. I bounced from one public school to the next and eventually found an anchor in my community here in Arizona. My dad inspired in me a love for service, and I enrolled in the Navy as soon as I had the chance.  My official photo after I enrolled in the Navy in 2015. I am still proud of my roots and my service.  I served on the USS Bainbridge (DDG-96), the guided-missile destroyer that took part in the rescue of Captain Richard Phillips. During that time, I learned how vital it is to be able to trust the judgment and commitment of the person standing next to you. That’s why I am running to flip Arizona’s 9th District and to defeat the most dangerous MAGA politician in Congress: Rep. Paul Gosar. Because if loose lips sink ships, then kicking Paul Gosar out of Congress is a matter of utmost national importance. In case you aren’t familiar with Gosar, he was censured by the House for sharing an anime video he made of himself killing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez; he twice promoted anti-Semitic content in his official House newsletter; and he is considered to be one of the most extreme right wing politicians in the entire country. I was taught in the Navy how to fight, and how to protect and defend my country. I was taught the meaning of real public service. And I took an oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States of America. So that’s what I am going to keep on doing. Our country is in crisis right now, and we can’t afford to have any Democrats standing on the sidelines hoping others will do the right thing to save us. We have to do the work ourselves, together. I am once again stepping up to serve my country with humility, grit, and courage. And I hope to have your support in my mission to defeat Paul Gosar and flip this critical House seat to Democrats.
