One way to support family farmers is to buy their food. Beets are affordable, packed with antioxidants and easy to find throughout fall and winter – even in cold places. 

Farm Aid’s Culinary Manager Carolina Reid is responsible for bringing to life Farm Aid’s vision for HOMEGROWN Food for All©, the food served at our festivals. HOMEGROWN Food© makes it possible for festivalgoers to enjoy food that is produced by family farmers who use ecological practices and who receive a fair price for their product. Check out Carolina's recipe for "Beet Walnut Salad," a dish that was served at Farm Aid 40 and would be a perfect addition to a Thanksgiving table.
