Christmas & New Year's Holiday Closure
In observance of the Christmas and New Year's Eve holidays, the Hurst Recreation Center, Hurst Senior Activities Center, and Hurst Tennis & Pickleball Center have have specialty hours and closures as follows:

 Santa's Mailbox
Santa wants to hear from you! Write your letter to Santa, and he will write you back! You can email your letter to Santa’s Inbox at [email protected] or drop off your letter in Santa’s Mailbox located at the Hurst Recreation Center or the Hurst Public Library from December 1-15. Include a return address so Santa knows where to send your letter.

Save the date! The annual City of Hurst Christmas Tree Lighting is on Tuesday, December 2. Enjoy snow tubing, holiday crafts, face painting, and photos with Santa. Shop unique gifts at Santa’s Christmas Marketplace, meet costumed characters, and visit some furry friends at our petting zoo. Don’t miss the magical grand finale with our stunning Christmas tree lighting ceremony and the area’s only holiday fireworks show!

Don’t leave an important family member out this holiday season! Bring your pup dressed up (or in their birthday suit) to catch a photo with Santa! You can also enter our Matching Christmas Costume Contest if you come dressed up with your pup! We will also have activities and crafts for the entire family to enjoy.

Santa photos, or the holidays, can be overwhelming for some children. We are excited to offer a time for those families in our community with children with sensory or mobility needs to participate in a calmer environment. We will have a photographer on-site to snap a photo with Santa, fun crafts, and a few other activities to enjoy.

 Recreation Classes
Join us at the Hurst Recreation Center for a variety of creative and engaging classes! We offer different programs for all ages, so there’s something for the whole family.
Featured Classes:

Beginners Crochet Creations: Learn the art of crochet from the very first loop! By the end of this 4-week class, everyone will complete a mini-crochet project.

Hoop Start Basketball: This fun and engaging program focuses on building skills through high-energy instruction, teamwork, and recreational play.

Karate: Build confidence, discipline, and strength while mastering exciting martial arts moves in a supportive, high-energy environment.
Winter & Spring Class Registration begins Monday, December 8 for Hurst residents, and Monday, December 15 for non-residents. Spots fill quickly, so be sure to register in advance online or in-person at the Hurst Recreation Center. To view our full catalog of classes, click on the button below!
