After sweeping victories earlier this month in Virginia and New Jersey, I’m feeling proud of this grassroots team and grateful for the work you’ve done to help us elect Abigail Spanberger and Mikie Sherrill. Thank you.

These historic wins are a loud and clear rejection of Donald Trump’s chaos and cruelty, and a warning sign to Republicans in 2026. They prove that Democrats are more motivated than ever to elect leaders like Abigail and Mikie – folks that treat all Americans as equal and worthy of respect.

But with thirty-six governors’ races on the ballot in 2026 where 80% of Americans will cast their vote for governor, I’m reaching out as incoming DGA Chair because I need to know that you’re still with us as we approach these tough races.

We’ll need to start 2026 as strongly as possible if we want to elect Dem govs who will fight every single day to deliver for you. As a second-term governor, Andy Beshear has a long record of accomplishments. He restored voting rights to nearly 200,000 Kentuckians, secured low-cost health care for tens of thousands, had the three best economic development years on record, and had the lowest unemployment rate in state history. He won his first election by just 5,136 votes and his second by 5 percentage points because Kentuckians and folks across the country know that he will work every day to make Americans’ lives better – from jobs to infrastructure, health care, public education, and so much more.
Now he’ll serve as our DGA Chair in 2026 to continue the fight for progress by electing Democratic governors across the country.
