I am writing to you today with an update on a serious and, frankly, unprecedented situation.

As you may know, I recently released a video with five of my national security colleagues to remind members of our military that their oath is to the Constitution and that they are not obligated to follow illegal orders. This core belief, that the rule of law must prevail, is what I swore to uphold as a Member of Congress and as an Air Force veteran.

In response, President Trump, our Commander in Chief, called me a traitor and said that I should be executed.

And now he is using the FBI as a tool to intimidate and harass me and other Members of Congress. 

Let me be clear – no amount of intimidation or harassment will ever stop me from doing my job and honoring our Constitution. 

I swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution. I am keeping that oath. I refuse to allow a man who himself attempted to overthrow our government on January 6th to dictate how I serve this country.
