Hi John,

In a 7-2 decision last week, SCOTUS ruled that employers can deny employees access to birth control coverage -- a decision which could leave as many as 126,000 women without this vital resource. Only Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Justice Sonia Sotomayor dissented.

Justice Ginsburg wrote in her dissent, “The court’s decision to allow for religious exemption leaves women workers to fend for themselves, to seek contraceptive coverage from sources other than their employer’s insurer, and, absent another available source of funding, to pay for contraceptive services out of their own pockets.”

Now more than ever, we need to elect more Democratic women who believe in equal access to reproductive health care to ensure that every person has the right to make their own choices. While I am angry and disappointed about this ruling from the high court, I am energized by the record number of women stepping up to be driving forces of change in our country. And I am thrilled that, together, we can make their victories in November possible.

But right now, A Woman's Place is behind on our weekly goal that will allow us to continue to endorse, financially support, and provide mentorship to many first-time candidates and incumbents facing tough re-elections. Here's where we are now:

We still need to raise $2,625 more, and I'm hoping to reach our weekly goal early. Will you give $25, $10, $5, or even $1 before midnight?

Counting on you! Here's the link to give: >> [link removed]

Thank you so much,
Mary Gay
