As we celebrate this season of gratitude, everyone at PAWS Chicago is reflecting on the countless lives that have been touched, saved, and transformed this year—and it’s all because of you.

This has been a year filled with second chances. Because of you—and every adopter, foster, volunteer, donor, advocate, and supporter who stands with us—thousands of cats and dogs now know safety, comfort, and love. You are the reason our work is possible.
Take Fruta, a young cat who was abandoned outside the doors of our Lurie Clinic, tucked inside a fruit box. Fruta was skittish and confused, her back covered in painful dermatitis. Yet, even in her fear, she leaned into the gentle hands that cared for her. After just a short time in foster care, her foster family fell in love with her emerging personality—warm, playful, curious, resilient—and made her a permanent part of their home.

In less than two weeks, Fruta’s life changed from being abandoned in a box to cherished in a family.
Fruta may never know who to thank for her second chance, but every nap in a sunbeam, every pounce on a toy mouse, and every snuggle in a warm lap is her celebration of you.
This Thanksgiving season, our hearts are full with gratitude for the community that makes our No Kill mission real and hope for every life still waiting for rescue. Thank you for being the reason homeless pets have a future filled with love.
