That is the official declaration from the Department of Education this week. And it happened because of a bill Lauren Boebert backed.
This is a slap in the face.
This new rule cuts the student loans nurses need. It makes advanced degrees too expensive for regular people. If they can’t pay for school, they can’t become nurse practitioners or teachers.
The most professional people I’ve ever known were the hospice nurses who got my parents and me through their final days. They provided dignity and care that no machine can replicate.
Let’s not forget that teaching and nursing are female-dominated fields that have been historically devalued and seen as “women’s work.”
So why make it harder for nurses and teachers?Because Boebert’s donors are betting on robots replacing people.
They are rewriting the rules to devalue human work, so they can automate it.
I’m Trisha Calvarese. I’m a former labor leader and public servant running to fire Lauren Boebert and fight for working people in Congress.
And Lauren Boebert is terrified of our campaign.
She is only in Congress because of just 546 votes. When I ran against her in 2024, our campaign had the best performance of any Democrat in this district’s history—outperforming Kamala Harris by 6 points in a red wave election.
