Hi John,

If you had told me when I was running for Governor that, in less than two years, we would be confronting a global pandemic, well, I would not have believed you.

But here we are, and as I look back on these past few months, what this pandemic has revealed to me in part is this: what Democrats fight for day in and day out matters.

Affordable, accessible health care matters.

A safety net that helps those who have fallen on hard times matters.

A strong economy with equal opportunities for everyone matters.

A government that is managed with honesty and compassion matters.

Caring about one another matters.

This election, let’s care for one another. Let’s care for our friends, our neighbors, our loved ones, for those we don’t know.

Let’s elect Democrats like Sara Gideon, Chellie Pingree and Jared Golden this November.

Sara Gideon stood by my side in the fight to expand Medicaid and to protect life-saving health care coverage for preexisting conditions in the Affordable Care Act. I was proud to sign Sara’s bill to lift Maine children and families out of poverty as well as her bill to cap the cost of insulin that will make sure no one has to go without the medicine they need.

Sara Gideon’s compassion and courage belongs in Washington. Let’s send her to the U.S. Senate!

Chellie Pingree and Jared Golden are champions for Maine’s working families in the U.S. House of Representatives. They’ve never forgotten our farmers and fishermen, our shipbuilders and small business owners, the people at the foundation of our economy and our state. Their work and their values have made a difference, especially during these difficult times, and I am forever grateful for their advocacy on behalf of Maine people.

Chellie Pingree and Jared Golden’s devotion to hardworking families belongs in Washington. Let’s send Chellie and Jared back to Congress!

Democrats voted in waves Tuesday. Now let’s seize the momentum to mobilize our fellow Mainers and elect Democrats up and down the ballot in November.

My friends, let’s come together to fight for the things that matter. The future depends on us.
