My campaign has officially been endorsed by the Sierra Club, and for that I am most proud. I am hoping I can rely on you for a donation of any amount, but the reason why I’m asking for your support is complicated: preventing the worst consequences of climate change, and the carbon emissions cuts that need to happen, shouldn’t be—cannot be—a partisan issue. I need all of my constituents to know exactly how the climate crisis will destroy their livelihoods, the breathtakingly beautiful land in Southeast MO that we all love, and ruin so much of our fertile farmland.

So I want to keep this email short, because we are running out of time and need everyone to grasp the urgency of the climate crisis. If you can, help me reach the voters who need to hear about this threat, and about how plans like a Green New Deal and a new pact for rural America can create jobs and save the planet by transitioning to a clean energy economy.
