Proudly Representing Texas' 12th Congressional District — November 26, 2025
Read time: 3 minutes
Dear Friend,
During the past four years, many families have suffered from the high cost of food and gas. That's why I’m encouraged to see that some core costs have noticeably declined this year.
My Republican colleagues and I have been working to deliver meaningful price reductions for Americans. There is still more work to do, so I will continue working to help lower your cost of living!
As you and your loved ones gather around the table this week, I hope you’ll take a moment to appreciate the many blessings in your life. There is truly so much to be thankful for!
It remains a true honor to serve you. If there is anything my team can do to help, please click the “How Can I Help You?” button at the bottom of this email. My team will respond as quickly as possible.
All my best,
Congressman Craig Goldman

3 BIG UPDATES
1) Family, Turkey, & Lower Prices
Especially during the holidays, the cost of food and gas can be a concern for many families. That’s why, alongside President Trump and my House Republican colleagues, I’ve been focused on lowering the cost of living.
Compared to 2022, prices of some food and gas have noticeably improved:
- The average cost of a Thanksgiving dinner for ten people has fallen from about $64 in 2022 to $55 in 2025.
- The prices of turkey, stuffing, dinner rolls, and fresh cranberries have all declined since last year.
- Average national gas prices have dropped from over $5 per gallon in 2022 to about $3 per gallon in 2025.
- Inflation has also declined from 9.1% in 2022 to 3% in 2025.
Additionally, many Americans are taking home more income with no tax on tips and no tax on overtime!

2) Improving Housing Affordability
Housing affordability is a major issue for our country. It is ridiculous that the median age of a first-time homebuyer is now 40 years old. Many young Americans are now waiting to start a family or get married until they can buy a home.
Last week, my bill, the Homeowner Energy Freedom Act, advanced through an Energy and Commerce Subcommittee. This bill repeals three of the Biden administration's costly green energy mandates that drive up the cost of new homes.
Some home builders estimate that repealing these extreme green energy rules would lower the cost of a new home by $31,000!

3) The Left's Manufactured Health Crisis
Also, you may have heard a lot about the Obamacare enhanced premium tax credits in the news recently. Below are simple facts about the temporary COVID tax credits that the Left wants to extend.
- Democrats originally passed these enhanced premium tax credits as a temporary COVID-19 measure.
- Unlike normal premium tax credits, these temporary COVID tax credits provided taxpayer-funded benefits to high-income households.
- The Wall Street Journal even found that some families earning over $500,000 received these subsidies. This is an outrageous misuse of taxpayer dollars!
- Expanding these enhanced subsidies would cost $350 billion over 10 years.
- A recent poll found that 65% of likely voters support ending these emergency COVID subsidies for higher-income families.
