Thousands of CeaseFirePA members like you took action to keep gun violence prevention funding in the news and on top of legislators’ minds throughout the lengthy budget process. 

Now, we finally have a state budget, and we’re celebrating, friend.

➡️➡️ Pennsylvania’s 2025-26 state budget includes a 10% increase in funding for lifesaving community violence intervention (CVI) programs. This historic funding means more violence interrupters on the ground, more reentry programs, and more neighborhoods freed from the trauma of gun violence.

This is a significant and validating victory for our movement, and I’m so grateful to the advocates, survivors, community leaders, and public safety champions like you who joined us to demand this $62 million statewide investment in a Pennsylvania free from gun violence.

Wins like this don’t happen by accident — they’re the result of consistent dedication and our shared belief that a safe and flourishing future is possible.

Across Pennsylvania, CVI programs have already helped communities achieve historic reductions in gun violence:

• Philadelphia saw a 52% reduction in gun violence over two years — the lowest levels in a decade.
• Allegheny County reported a 30% drop in gun violence in that same timeframe.
• Statewide, there has been a 42% drop in total gun violence victims.
• Gun deaths have decreased by 38%.

Friend, more Pennsylvanians are graduating, starting families, getting new jobs, celebrating birthdays, and living full lives because of this work. That’s something to celebrate.
