I cannot thank you enough for standing with me every step of the way in my campaign for U.S. Senate. Even though we did not prevail, we moved Maine forward in a big way.

We made progress, John, and we did so without having to compromise our values or what we stand for. The issues we raised, the solutions we put forward – Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, racial justice, listening to the inspiring voices of young people – all of those things have gained momentum, and I count that as a special victory.

Thousands of Mainers chose hope in this time of despair, and big change instead of complacency. Together, we are on a journey for justice, for compassion and common decency, and our journey doesn’t end here. Our fight for Maine continues. Sustainable change is not made or broken in a single night. We are in this for the long-haul. Progress takes all of our efforts, all of our activism, day in and day out, and that’s how we will achieve real change.

To all who have been on this journey with us: I thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
