Re-Imagined:

Why Ride a Bus or a Train Instead of a Plane?

December 3, 2025  7:00 PM CT

This webinar will offer insights to the need to expand and fully fund public transit as a means to improve our environment as well as get all people to all of  the places they need to go both safely and in a timely manner. Good public transit is a lifeline to jobs, healthcare, travel, community solidarity and cohesiveness as well as a key to public safety and prosperity. A robust public transit helps to end racism and inequities that contribute to a divided society.

The Greater Good Podcast Presents:

Organizing for Justice & Abolition in St. Louis (w/ Janis Mensah)

The GGP welcomes Janis Mensah for the inaugural interview episode! Janis shares their experience of being arrested in the summer of 2023 (charged with trespassing and resisting) for the crime of entering the City Justice Center (CJC),during standard hours of operation, in order to investigate the death of an inmate.

Along the way, we discuss an earlier interaction with the Washington University Police Department when Janis was a freshman at the school. The episode concludes with a discussion about how to handle those rare moments when organizing leads to clear and contemporaneous "win," and whether such a result suggests broadening the scope of the ad hoc organization which secured it.
