Yesterday, my House colleagues and I joined Speaker Lisa Demuth in sending a formal letter to U.S. Attorney Daniel Rosen, urging the Department of Justice to investigate deeply troubling allegations of fraud involving Minnesota taxpayer dollars.
Over the past several years, we’ve witnessed an alarming amount of waste, fraud, and abuse within state government. Minnesotans work hard for their money, and they deserve a government that protects their tax dollars.
The latest allegations raise serious concerns that stolen taxpayer funds may have been funneled overseas and potentially linked to criminal or terrorist organizations. If these claims prove true, it is beyond alarming and is unacceptable. This must be stopped immediately.
We are calling for full accountability for anyone involved and for strong, lasting oversight measures to ensure this kind of fraud can never happen again. Minnesotans deserve honesty, transparency, and responsible leadership from their government, and we will continue working to deliver exactly that.
