Hi John,

Trump and his Big Oil and Gas cronies are rushing to remove every inch of the buffer zone that protects Chaco Canyon, a sacred, 500-square-mile region in northwestern New Mexico. Thousands of Navajo and Pueblo families live here. Generations of sacred ceremonies began here. This UNESCO World Heritage site is on the line—and time is quickly running out to save these families' homes and their ancestral land.

Right now, we’re working with Native communities, the New Mexico congressional delegation, and other partners to defeat Trump’s plans to further tear apart this community, their homes, and sacred land. We have just days to stop them before it’s too late.

We urgently need your help! Your generous donation today will help defend this sacred land and stop Trump from giving the Chaco Canyon to Big Oil and Gas companies. ([link removed])

Why is the fight for Chaco Canyon so important?

The Greater Chaco is a region of great cultural, spiritual, and historical significance to many Pueblos and Tribes that contains sacred sites. Families in Greater Chaco are already suffering at the hands of Big Oil and Gas. With more than 90% of the land leased for fracking, 40,000 wells now surround Navajo homes—polluting the air they breathe and draining the water they rely on.

Parents report children waking up with severe headaches and nausea. More people are getting cancer. Elders struggle with asthma and heart problems. Many families still don’t have running water, and drought is only making things worse. This shouldn’t be normal! This shouldn't be acceptable!

The BLM reports each new well will take four million gallons of water—water these communities need to survive.

If the Trump administration lets more drilling and destruction into Chaco Canyon then no forest, wilderness, park or prior agreement with Native Americans and other communities is off limits. Your own community could be next.
