Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because it slows us down long enough to remember what really matters: family, friends, and the people who show up for us every day.
I’m grateful for this community, too. At Our Table has grown into something special, and this week I want to reshare a conversation that still sticks with me and reminds me why honest dialogue matters.
A couple months ago, I sat down with Rep. Ro Khanna [ [link removed] ] for a frank conversation about what it means to lead with principle in an era of performative politics. As we reflect on gratitude, truth, and courage this week, I hope these moments from our conversation offer something meaningful to you too.
Ro didn’t hold back. And I’m glad he didn’t. Too often, we let politeness masquerade as unity. But the truth is, real unity starts with honesty and a shared moral core.
As I look around this table we’ve built together, I’m more convinced than ever that the people closest to the pain should be closest to the power. And that only happens if we’re brave enough to speak the truth—even when it’s inconvenient.
And if you’ve got a long car ride this week, I hope you’ll check out our full archive of episodes [ [link removed] ]. There’s a lot more where this one came from.
Wishing you and your loved ones a safe, joyful Thanksgiving.
