Schools (MPS) is offering courses exclusively to students of a

Patriot,

During a recent investigation, we discovered that Minneapolis Public
Schools (MPS) is offering courses _EXCLUSIVELY_ to students of a
particular race. 

Can you imagine your child registering for classes and seeing that
there is a class they CANNOT TAKE because they are the wrong race? Not
only is this unlawful, but this practice is immoral. It divides kids
in schools based on immutable characteristics when classrooms should
be a place of unity in learning. 

Excluding students from classes on the basis of race is a clear
violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Equal
Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

DEFENDING EDUCATION BELIEVES THAT THE BEST WAY TO ACHIEVE EQUALITY IS
TO TREAT CHILDREN EQUALLY, REGARDLESS OF SKIN COLOR.

That’s why we filed a complaint with the Office for Civil Rights to
have the U.S. Department of Education investigate Minneapolis Public
Schools' discriminatory policy.
