We have just one week to go until Giving Tuesday. This is an important fundraising period for nonprofits and we need the help of our supporters to stay on track to unlock our fundraising match opportunity of $75,000 by our End-of-Year deadline.
NCLEJ is a small team with limited resources, and it’s especially important that we meet our fundraising goals consistently. We are always asked by partners and impacted communities around the country to do more—but without the necessary funding, we are forced to turn down work where we could have made the difference.
As national leaders on SNAP delay litigation, our advocacy is urgently needed now more than ever. The Trump administration has demonstrated its hostility towards the social safety net that helps low-income families stave off severe hunger and poverty, and much work remains to dismantle illegal barriers to access faced by millions of people. Well before the government shutdown began, NCLEJ was leading this fight across the country. In Missouri, Alaska, Georgia, and New York, we’re working to expand access to the food benefits low-income families and communities need to survive.
We want to do even more, because there is no shortage of need for our advocacy in this critical moment.
The National Center for Law and Economic Justice advances racial and economic justice through ground-breaking impact litigation, policy advocacy, and support for grassroots organizing. We have provided legal representation and support since 1965.
