Announcing our $250,000 Global Partners Matching Gift Campaign!
Thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, our Global Partners initiative now supports nineteen organizations working in their local communities to expand access to family planning options and reproductive health care, to remove barriers to girls’ education, and to conserve local natural resources through an integrated “population, health, environment” (PHE) approach.
We’re kicking off our annual matching gift offer in support of Global Partners! A generous Population Connection supporter will match your donation—and all donations!—up to $250,000, through December 31st. This special campaign sends every single dollar you give directly to our partners, sustaining their local efforts to help advance our mission.

PopEd's Monthly Theme: Teaching About the Ocean
The world’s oceans makes up over 70 percent of the Earth’s surface. They serve as a critical habitat for a vast array of diverse wildlife and is the backbone of many of Earth’s natural processes. Oceans provide over half of the Earth’s oxygen [[link removed]] , regulate the climate, and act as a natural carbon sink, helping to slow the steady march of global warming. Oceans also provides vital nutrients and livelihoods for almost half of the world’s population [[link removed]'s%20population.] .
Educating K-12 students about the challenges facing our oceans and the ways we can preserve them is vital to achieving a sustainable future. Only when students understand the role that oceans plays in Earth’s natural systems and recognize ocean health as a precursor to the health of wildlife and humans will they be able to advocate for the protection of our blue planet.
Over the coming weeks, our Population Education team will share a wide variety of classroom materials to help educators teach students about the impact humans are having on the world's oceans, with an emphasis on protecting these vital ecosystems. Learn more on the PopEd blog, linked below!
