Tell Congress: Stop U.S. military strikes in the Caribbean and Pacific! [link removed]

Dear Friend,

The United States is murdering people at sea. Since September, at least 83 people have been killed in military strikes on boats in the Caribbean and Pacific. An aircraft carrier, dozens of warships and warplanes, and thousands of troops have been deployed to the region. President Trump is threatening land strikes in Venezuela next.

This is state-sanctioned murder. And it is illegal.

These killings were carried out without congressional authorization, without due process, and without evidence. The Trump administration calls the victims “narco-terrorists” but has provided no proof.

In the next few weeks, the U.S. House of Representatives will vote on a new war powers resolution to stop these attacks. This is our chance to force congressional action—but only if members of Congress hear from their constituents now.

This is a familiar and dangerous pattern. In the 1980s, AFSC witnessed firsthand the impact of U.S. military intervention in Latin America. We documented the violence in El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Guatemala. Instead of bringing stability, the U.S. fueled conflict that killed and disappeared hundreds of thousands and displaced millions. It perpetuated cycles of violence, forced migration, and deep poverty that persist today.

We cannot go down this road again. As a Quaker organization committed to peace and justice, we oppose violence in all its forms. We will not stand by while our government murders people without accountability and drags us toward another endless war.
