Dear friend,

The Bill has now entered Committee stage in the House of Lords - over 1,000 amendments have been tabled. Some are genuine attempts to strengthen the Bill. But many are designed for one purpose only: to slow progress, run down the clock, and block this Bill.

The House of Commons has already spoken decisively for the people of this country. MPs voted to back this Bill, after months of scrutiny and years of growing evidence. The message could not be clearer: the UK is ready for a safe, compassionate assisted dying law.

This Bill cannot be allowed to fall because opponents know they can exploit procedure to block change.

Will you email a Member of the House of Lords today and urge them to respect the will of the Commons, resist deliberate obstruction, and ensure the Bill continues to make progress?

Every day the blanket ban on assisted dying remains, terminally ill people are forced to take desperate actions in secret and alone. Parliament has already recognised that this is unacceptable. The House of Lords must now play its part.

Peers must not allow a minority to derail this Bill with delay tactics. They must listen to the public, honour the Commons’ mandate, and ensure detailed scrutiny happens in good faith - not as a means to derail the Bill’s progress quietly.

Opponents are already mobilising and will do everything they can to flood the Lords with messages urging them to stall or block the Bill. Your message today will remind them that the country expects progress, not procedural games.

We are so close. Each email you send strengthens the case for choice and helps ensure this Bill keeps moving forward.

Thanks so much.
