Dear John:

Updates from DC

Last week, the House and Senate both passed legislation to release files on Jeffery Epstein, which was then signed into law by President Trump. This is a major step in providing clarity and my vote in favor of releasing the Epstein files is consistent with my previous call for transparency on the issue.

I also voted to support two bills, the DC Cash Bail Reform Act and the CLEAN DC Act, which will crack down on violent crime in our nation's capital. These bills mandate the return of cash bail for those charged with violent offenses and roll back restrictions on police tactics and restore power to DC law enforcement. Both bills aim to reduce crime rates, and I hope that they can be an inspiration to Minnesota state legislators to take measures to protect the people of Minnesota.

Thanks for Visiting!

I had the opportunity to meet with Minnesota Agriculture Rural Leadership (MARL) to discuss my role in the government re-opening, which consisted of meeting with the Rule Committee, passing the Rule out of committee, and leading the floor debate. We also discussed the Farm Bill extension and how important farmers are to America. I'm proud to support legislation that benefits our farmers and rural communities!

Investigation into Minnesota Fraud Schemes

Last Friday, I, along with the other members of the Minnesota Republican Congressional Delegation, sent a letter to U.S. Attorney Daniel Rosen requesting that he open an investigation into reports that Minnesota taxpayer dollars have been funneled to Al-Shabaab terrorists through a series of fraudulent scams. It is unacceptable that Governor Walz would allow this to happen under his administration, and I will continue to fight until we have answers and accountability for those responsible for this disastrous failure to protect the dollars of hard-working Minnesotans.

You can read the full letter here.

Honoring Lives Well Lived

Last week I had the opportunity to honor the lives of Bradley Schenck & Ed De La Hunt, both known for their dedication to their communities. I want to extend my condolences to the families and communities of both men.

Brad Schenck was a devoted husband, father, Marine, Master Air Sergeant, and law enforcement officer. He dedicated his life to serving his country and community. Brad's life was defined by service, resilience, and joy. May God look over his community and our law enforcement officers.

Ed was a pioneer in the broadcasting community. His voice and vision shaped Minnesota for decades. Ed trained and inspired generations of broadcasters and his dedication leaves behind a legacy of service through the airwaves. It was my privilege to honor his life and career.
