I’ve got a big announcement today: I’m NOT running for Governor of California.

I know, I know. The list of Democrats throwing their hat in the ring keeps growing by the day. It’s going to be a wild race to watch!

But for me, the choice is clear. I’ve got two young kids at home, and I really care about the work I’m doing here in the House. Someone has to do the hard work to actually get things done, especially for a community like mine that’s been left behind for way too long. As terrible as Congress can be some days (trust me, I know…), this job is truly the honor of my life. At this time in our country’s history, I want to be in the fight and do this job to the best of my abilities.

This might not be the news some of you were hoping for (appreciate your emails and texts though!), but I’m proud to continue representing California’s 9th District in Congress.
